16 Track Analog Tape Machine >> Just like the good old days before digital took over!! If you want the fat smooth sound of the pre-digital age, this the way to go. Nothing sounds better than slapping your music onto a big ol' reel of tape flying by at 30 inches per second.
24 Track Digital Workstation >> If you have complex ideas or want the many layers of sound of techno or hip-hop this is the only way to go. Complete, automated control over all aspects of the mixdown. Automate Volume, Pan, Effects, muting, sample triggers..ad nausem! Because it is computer based we are able to store multiple mixes of the same material, making sure you get the final mix you want.
Hybrid: 16 track Analog synched to 24 Track Digital >> This is groovy if your band has many musicians or if you want to go crazy on digital sampling while recording the actual live music on the Analog machine. You can get the more vintage sound of the Tape Machine for the band while retaining control over samples etc. via the computer. Complicated but the results are cool!
CD Mastering CD Demo Production >> At Lump Head Studio we use a Professional 24 bit Cd Mastering program (versus the 16 bit of most software) The information in 24 bits is more than double that of 16 bits, it is much clearer, cleaner and less "digital" sounding than any 16 bit mastering system. CD one offs as low as $4 each, also rearrange the order and/or overlap songs in the mastering process.
